FUJIFILM Festival Concludes with Fantastic Photo Walk

Posted on

In the perfect end to an awesome weekend of photography, the second annual FUJIFILM Festival concluded with a photo walk through the photogenic streets of Venice, CA. Attendees who had attended the previous two days of workshops were joined by members of the public to get one final top up of photo knowledge – and sunshine – in an area that’s simply bursting with life and picture-taking potential.

Guided Photo Walks

Following breakfast, where Festival attendees were able to take advantage of the loan program to try out cameras and lenses for the photo walk, the event started at Winward Plaza, right on the beachfront. Delegates split into groups led by Michelle Turner, Omar Z. Robles, Elia Locardi, Andrew Primavera, Tehillah De Castro, and Xyza Cruz Bacani to explore the unlimited photo opportunities in the area, or were free to soak up the atmosphere at their own speed.

With Muscle Beach, the Venice skate park, canals, murals, beachfront boardwalk and the ocean all within a few meters, the photo walkers were spoilt for choice when it came to subject matter, plus models were also provided for those keen to hone their portrait photography skills.

It’s a Wrap!

After the walk, attendees headed back for a wrap up and a final opportunity to take advantage of the FUJIFILM Festival Print Station, where they could get images from the morning printed out to take home.

Delegates were full of praise for the event, the organization and the opportunities it had given them to indulge their passion and learn how to take their photography and videography skills to the next level. “The FUJIFILM Festival has given me a refresher and encouragement to get back out there,” Kate Hailey told us. “As creatives, we have lulls, but the past three days has got me going again and I’m leaving feeling incredibly motivated. I’d definitely come again.”

This sentiment was echoed by the workshop leaders. “The FUJIFILM Festival has been fantastic. I love that people have shown me the work they’ve done after attending one of my workshops,” said X-Photographer Xyza Cruz Bacani. “People were pumped; they’ve been inspired and want to get out and take more photographs.”

“The FUJIFILM Festival was an incredible immersive hands-on experience that really allowed photographers and creatives to expand their workflow,” added Lisa Yang, Product Manager at FUJIFILM North America Corporation. “We couldn’t have asked for a better turnout – everyone was really engaged and excited to learn and be a part of a greater FUJIFILM community.”

Details for the FUJIFILM Festival 2019 are still to be released, but make sure you check back to the website for updates in the coming months.
