Fujifilm has announced a brand new GF250mmF4 lens and GF1.4X teleconverter for its powerful mirrorless medium format GFX system.
The FUJINON GF250mmF4 R LM OIS WR is a new telephoto lens for the GFX system. Offering a focal length that is equivalent to 198mm on a 35mm format camera, the GF250mm is capable of capturing the atmosphere of a scene through a combination of sharp detail and rich bokeh blur. Taking advantage of Fujifilm’s long history in high-end optics, the GF250mm offers super-detailed resolving power that is capable of supporting resolutions exceeding even the 51.4 megapixels provided by the GFX 50S camera.
The GF250mm lens is equipped with the new focus preset function, which allows you to save focus settings in the lens memory and instantly reactivate them when needed. Boasting a magnesium alloy lens barrel to reduce weight, the lens is also dust and weather-resistant, and is able to operate in temperatures as low as -10°C, making it the ideal travel companion for intrepid, outdoor shoots.
For photographers who want to extend their focal length even further, Fujifilm has also announced the FUJINON GF1.4X TC WR teleconverter. This is a 1.4x teleconverter that extends the focal length to the equivalent to 277mm on a 35mm format camera. The new teleconverter maintains high image quality, provides a weather-resistant seal for outdoor shooting, and reduces the lens’ maximum aperture by just one stop.
