Posted on

As part of its ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest quality user experience, FUJIFILM Corporation has announced a new wave of firmware updates due for release in the coming weeks. These latest upgrades will add improved functionality to the FUJIFILM GFX 50S, X-T3, and X-H1 cameras.

GFX System Firmware Update

The GFX system firmware update will bring a number of new functions to the GFX 50S, aligning it with the newly released GFX 50R. Enhanced functionality will include support for the 35mm format mode when using the H Mount Adapter, improved eye sensor response, and support for EVF and LCD color adjustment.

The GFX 50S firmware update will be released late November 2018. Keep an eye on FUJIFILMFirmware.com for more information.

X Series Firmware Updates

The X-T3 firmware update will bring with it a host of improvements to video production, including the ability to record 4K HDR video in Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) format, bringing it up-to-date with the latest HDR technology.

In addition, the X-T3 will be able to record Film Simulation and F-log footage simultaneously, and videographers will be able to record more than 4GB of footage in one shot. Further upgrades include the display of color temperature (kelvin) on the EVF and LCD, along with support for slower DCI 4K and 4K shutter speeds of 29.97p, 25p, 24p, and 23.98p.

Owners of the X-H1, meanwhile, will benefit from a number of upgrades with the X-H1 firmware update, including enhanced in-body image stabilization (IBIS) performance. Not only will IBIS performance be upgraded, but it will also work seamlessly together with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) to improve overall camera stability. An additional firmware update for the XF80mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro lens will be required in order for IBIS and OIS to work together.

In addition to this, it will be possible to display kelvin temperature on the EVF and LCD, making for smooth white balance adjustments. There is also great news for videographers, who will be able to record over 4GB of footage in one movie file.

The X-T3, X-H1 and XF80mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro firmware updates will be released in December 2018. Stay tuned to FUJIFILMFirmware.com for more information.
