FUJIFILM North America Corporation has announced a new firmware update that will bring new and improved functionality to the FUJIFILM X-A5 camera.
In line with Fujifilm’s policy of continuing to improve its products even after their initial release, X-A5 Camera Body Firmware Ver.1.10 will introduce a new phase detection autofocus algorithm to the camera. The algorithm, which is also featured on the new FUJIFILM X-T100 camera that was announced today, will allow the X-A5 to focus faster and more accurately. This will help X-A5 owners to capture precious moments as they happen.
The new firmware will also extend the maximum possible movie recording time to around 30 minutes at any movie quality setting. When the movie file size reaches 4GB, the camera will automatically start a new file and continue to shoot without interruption.
X-A5 owners who install the update will also enjoy improved HDMI output usability. Thanks to this change, there will no longer be a time limitation when outputting over HDMI. The update also improves the reliability of the interval timer shooting mode, to make life easier for those who enjoy timelapse photography.
