Dan Westergren has spent most of the past three decades producing award-winning images as a freelance photographer and former DOP at National Geographic Traveler.
At National Geographic Traveler, he developed a photographic aesthetic that defined the magazine’s visual impact in print, digital and social media. As a photographer, he has shot stories on all seven continents, including expeditions up Mt Kilimanjaro, Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn, and skiing to the North Pole.
Now he is a freelance photographer and producer, creating photographs, videos and marketing plans for clients including National Geographic and Travel + Leisure. Dan also leads numerous photo workshops, sharing his love of photography with travelers in all corners of the globe.
